Beer funnels, also known as beer bongs, are exactly what they sound like, a funnel that is attached to a tube that expedites the flow of beer to someone’s mouth. Such a tool is most likely found in scenes that boast frat parties, kick backs, and general everyday college life. For the likes of people who live for their infamous 5 minutes of fame as they shotgun a beer, this tool is perfect for them. However, the question is, are beer funnels worth the money or time?

Let’s take a moment to think about this. How many of you have successfully shotgunned a beer? Yeah, me either. This leads to my point. Beer funnels, while they can present a challenge that may incite some fun between comrades, ultimately it is very hard to just chug a malt beverage from start to finish. Those who can either love the taste, are way too drunk to taste anything, or have superior drinking skills. The fact of the matter is, however, most people cannot complete a challenge without choking and ending up with a lot of wasted beer and a wet face and shirt.

Think about it. If you are choking and are gasping for air, the last thing you are going to think about is holding the tube up so that the beer doesn’t spill. Chances are, by the time you are realizing that you are spilling precious booze, it is all gone. Thus, beer funnels are a waste of time and money. The question isn’t
“are beer funnels a tool that shows strength in drinking,” but rather “how much money are you willing to lose in wasted beer by using one.”

stay classy my friends.
