When you and your friends go out, there is always some sort of divide when it comes to ordering drinks at the bar. The biggest difference we see comes down to the great divide between who ordered the light beer… and who did not. If you’re the one who got the light beer, I’m sure you heard it all from, “That’s not beer!” to, “Why didn’t you just get a glass of water?” Then there is you, who probably thinks, “In the end, it’s still beer. Beer is beer.” Well, in an attempt to help settle this great divide, we came up with a list for times when light beer is ok and when it is just down right insulting!

Light Beer – OK!
-Hanging out in dive bars.
-At house parties – in any age group.
-On summer vacation when you are Poolside/Beachside in the hot sun.
-For health reasons.
-When you don’t really want a beer but you try to be a sport about it anyways.

Light Beer – NOT OK!
-Hanging out in craft beer bars or beer gardens.
-When you go out to a nice dinner – “treat yo-self!”
-When you’re not buying! Maybe don’t go crazy, but damn! Branch out… it’s free!
-Any event or festival that is beer themed. They usually exist to expose you to new, local beer.
-Shopping at an upscale craft beer distributor – they didn’t open hoping to sell you the generic brands!

Of course there are more reasons for both side of the scale but we only wanted to touch base on a few – as for the other reasons for or against light beer – let’s hear them in the comments!
