We’ve all had the feeling of a horrible hangover the morning after an epic night of drinking. This feat is such a common one that there are probably way too many “cures” out there that claim to work. Below is a list of some world-famous cures!

I’m going to start the list off with my favorite.
1. Immediately when you wake up, drink a full glass of water and take a BC powder or pop some Ibuprofen (this option can be left out since technically it can be dangerous to take meds on top of alcohol). If you aren’t too drunk the night before, drink a full glass of water before calling it quits. Take a hot shower and sweat out some of the toxins. Lastly, after you’re clean and water-filled, eat! I suggest waffles or a sandwich, or anything bready. Follow it up with a Gatorade or Powerade to replenish electrolytes.

2. Brine from a jar of pickled gherkins — Ask a Russian how to clear your woozy stomach and achy head and they will tell you that Pickle Juice is the way to go! Don’t worry, you can worry about your resulting high blood pressure AFTER your hangover is gone.

3. Ant Tea — Umm, I’m not sure I would try this, but if you find yourself hungover down under mate, crushed up green ants made into a tea will be the cure of choice. Bon apetit?

4. Espresso — Caffeine dilates the blood vessels allowing more oxygen and blood flow. This will help with headaches. You can thank the Italians for this remedy.

5. Oregano Tea — According to the wise Ecuadorians, brew some leaves of this herb into water to make a tea. This will settle the worst of all hangover ailments, a troubled stomach.

6. Vodka! — This may seem a little counterintuitive, but Mongolians are firm believers that the only way to cure a hangover is to do more drinking! Vodka to be exact. Be leery of this method, though. It seems to me that this will just delay the hangover for one more day. And then what will you do for your hangover on day two?

7. Greasy Foods — In the good ol’ U.S. of A, anything greasy will do the trick. Grease is thought to soak up liquor and settle the stomach. It also slows alcohol absorption to allow for easier sobering up.

8. Pickled Sheep Eyeballs in Tomato Juice — This one also hails from Mongolia. Tomato juice helps the liver to get rid of toxins. I’m not sure what the eyeballs do, but when you feel bad enough, you’ll be willing to try anything!!

9. Kaya Toast — In Indonesia, you get to have a dessert-like food as a hangover cure! It is a toast with coconut jam, sugar, coconut milk, and eggs. Sounds AWESOME!

10. (More) Beer — In Denmark, a “repair beer” called reparationsbajer is thought to remedy a Hangover. While you’re at it, why don’t you join the Mongolians when you’re through so you can drink some Vodka too!

11. Coconut Water — Bangladesh boasts giving coconut water to those suffering. It’s hydrating, which is one of the most important things to treat. The taste isn’t so bad either.

12. Full English Breakfast — Forget the feeling of nausea you have, eating this full breakfast in the UK made of blood sausage (black pudding), baked beans, eggs, hashbrowns, and mushrooms is said to have you feeling better in no time! And full…

13. Green Tea — It is no surprise that the Chinese believe that Green Tea has powers that can halt a hangover. However, considering some of the other more drastic measures, this one seems quite easy and worth trying!

14. Pellet Tea — Yep, that’s right. Tea. Made. From. Poop. Supposedly, using rabbit pellets and steeping them in tea is a remedy practiced in the United States to combat a hangover. Talk about bad breath…Um, I’ll leave the option up to you.

Well folks, there you have it! Some of the most interesting, weird, and possibly successful cures from around the world. Try one, try them all! The choice is yours!

…of course, you could always not drink so much too…just sayin. XD
