Oh, hello. I didn’t see you there. But, while you’re here, I might as well share some information. We here at BeerRightNow.com have scoured the world trying to find out the truth about mixing liquor and beer.

The truth is, any type of alcohol consumed in too large of a quantity can be detrimental to your health, causing the dreaded hangover. That’s probably obvious, though. So let’s get back to the real reason you clicked on this article.

We’ve all heard the famous rhyme “Beer and liquor, never been sicker,” but the question is: is it true? The simple answer is no. The logic behind the rhyme is that you should stick to the same type of alcohol so that it is easier to tell where your limit is and stop accordingly. However, anyone can find their limit if they are careful.

The reason why it is discouraged to start drinking beer and then finish with liquor is because beer has a much lower alcohol percentage, especially for its size. Many beers come in the standard size of 12 ounces, but it takes many before you start to feel the effects of a buzz. On the other hand, with liquor, the serving size is usually only about 1.5 ounces and has a much higher potency. As a result, if you start out with beer, you may not have reached your height of drunkenness before you decided to expedite that with liquor. With this combination, it is VERY easy to get to a point of uncomfortable drunkenness.

Conversely, if you choose to start with liquor and finish with beer, you should still make sure to be careful. You don’t want to have that sick feeling that people often get between a liquor buzz and a beer buzz. Just drink wisely.

The truth is, my lovely website users, that it is safe to mix both beer and liquor, but you MUST know what your limit is. Do NOT get completely drunk on one and then add the other on top. You’re asking for one heck of a next day. Make sure if you are going to mix the two, however, you are also drinking water to tell your liver that you still love it. And as always, don’t forget to visit us here to comment on your experiences or to buy your supplies at BeerRightNow.com. Cheers.
