Don't be that guy

Fellas, if you are going to take a trip to the bar, do your best to avoid being “that guy”. You know, the guy who is belligerent, obnoxious, loud, and arrogant. Sometimes, you can slip into that persona without even realizing it! Here are a few tips to avoid being “that guy”.

1. Stick to drinks like beer so that you don’t get drunk as fast. Slowly sipping on a beer will allow you to feel your drunkenness as it approaches, so if you are known to be a belligerent guy after a few too many, be sure to slow down or stop.

2. Find a date that keeps you interested. If your focus is on a beautiful woman, it may stop you from being ignorant towards others.

3. Don’t go. If you frequently have your friends or women telling you that you are an awful person when drinking, maybe you should stay home and relive your glory days in high school sports by looking through photo albums and watching old videos.

4. Moderate yourself. Keep a tab on what you are drinking and don’t overdo it.

5. Last tip, guys: alternate the activities that you are doing. Have a drink, go dance and have a little fun, come back for a drink, walk out to the patio, whatever! Make sure to change the venue every so often so that you don’t get comfy in one place and start to act a fool.

Overall, if you don’t want to be “that guy”, you can take these steps, but ultimately, it is up to you. Stop being crass and lighten up some!
