There is no doubt that Zoom meetings leave us all on our worst behavior: only dressed from the waist down, distractedly texting or social media scrolling, or casually drinking in the middle of the day. Though drinking during a WFH session or a class might not be the most appropriate thing, it can certainly make a long video call a little more bearable. If you’re looking for some ideas of what to sip on while “working” or “studying,” here are some of our top picks.

Spiked Seltzer

Poured into a glass spiked seltzer looks just like sparkling water, and it basically is just with a much higher ABV. If you’re trying to not draw attention to drinking on the clock, this is a great option.

Beer

Beer is the classic go to alcoholic drink of choice for many and works as a great anytime of day refreshment. Whether you opt for a pale ale or a stout, casually sipping on a beer is always a good move.

Wine

Your choice of wine can say a lot about your work from home mood. Sipping on Cabernet after lunch might be a little less drastic than chugging Pinot during your two pm meeting. Rosé is always a good option and may even brighten your spirits, after all the millennial pink drink is known for accompanying a fun and cheerful atmosphere.

Mixed Drinks

If you have the effort into fixing a cocktail or other mixed drink, then you probably have the effort to put into whatever you’re actually supposed to be doing. Still, the alcoholic option may seem like a much more productive use of time.

You’ll be happy to know you’re most likely not drinking alone. According to recent surveys, millions of Americans are drinking while working from home during the COVID-19 pandemic. Even if you’re not doing shots on camera, many of your coworkers might be slipping some Bailey’s in their morning coffee. Some workplaces are even hosting virtual happy hour get togethers. So, raise your glass to your coworkers for a virtual cheers.
