NFL Draft drinks to take you to Philly
If you know or care about football, you know that this year’s NFL Draft is taking place in the city of brotherly love, AKA Philadelphia. However, if you cannot make the trek out, here are a few drinks being served in Philly bars you can try to DIY and pretend you’re there.
- Game Day Shandy
Combine some white ale (Philly local brew preferred) with lemon soda, lemonade, and watermelon liquor to make a quick, sweet drink.
- Philly Tailgate
Also known as the “Citywide Special,” this drink is just some Jim Beam bourbon and PBR. Can’t get more Philly than that!
- Iggletini
For those with a sweet-tooth, try combining vanilla vodka, Crème de Menthe and Crème de Cocoa for the ultimate themed martini inspired by the weird way Philly natives pronounce “Eagles.”
- Hail Mary Bloody Mary
Your traditional Bloody Mary, but with a football-themed name it’s totally an appropriate NFL Draft-themed drink, right? Combine some lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, Tabasco sauce and tomato juice to a tall glace of vodka and ice. Add salt and pepper to taste and you’ve got yourself the brunch drink of champs.
- BEER
Whether it’s a Philly local brewery beer you somehow get your hands on or some PBR, “draft” beer is certainly an appropriate choice to take you to Philly and in the center of action.
With enough of these drinks, you might not be in Philadelphia but you might be able to convince yourself you are!
